Chapter Four: A New Journey Begins
[/i][/u][/center]Story One
Outside Kalm
Kael looked behind him, seeing Kalm. He had never left it before, and now that he looked at it, he could see how fragile it was. He looked at the ground, then turned and ran as far as he could from Kalm. He went around a mountain and found himself at a farm. Tired, he looked around. It looked like the Chocobo Farm that had become well-known. Kael limped in, injured from all the monster encounters he had to endure. The Masamune Blade was just strong enough to protect him for the time being. He went to the house, and collapsed at the door.
A girl walked out and jumped back when she saw Kael. She ran back in and grabbed her grandpa, who carried Kael into a bed. It took a while for Kael to regain consciousness, and the girl sat there the entire time. As Kael opened his eyes, the girl smiled. He jumped up and looked around. “Where am I?” The girl giggled. “You’re at the Chocobo Farm!” Kael got up, and walked around. “How did I get here?” The girl followed behind him. “We found you at our door. You were hurt, so we helped.” Kael looked at the girl, and smiled. “Thanks.” The girl smiled back. “I’m Aurora. What’s your name?” Kael looked out the window. Should he tell her his name? She did save him, after all. “Kael.” Aurora giggled. “What? Do you think my name is funny?” “No, I like it.”<br>
Kael then noticed something. The Masamune Blade was gone! He frantically looked around, but didn’t see it. “The Blade! Where is it?!” Aurora giggled. “Oh, the sword? It’s in the stables. I can take you, if you want.” Kael gave a sigh of relief. “Please take me to it.” Kael followed Aurora to the stables, where he saw several chocobos, each of a different color. “Whose are these?” Aurora looked back at Kael. “They are the descendents of a series of chocobos that some person named Cloud kept.” Cloud… could it be? Is it the same Cloud who saved the planet from Sephiroth?
Kael spotted the sword in the corner. He ran to it and picked it up. Looking at it for a second, he attached it to his side. He was just tall enough for it not to drag on the ground. He looked at Aurora. “How do I get a Chocobo?” Aurora smiled. “I thought you’d never ask! You need to use this.” Aurora handed Kael a purple rock and some greens. “What is this?” Aurora giggled. “That’s the Chocobo Lure Materia! It makes chocobo come to you. Then you feed it these greens and hop on!” Kael averted his gaze from the greens and rock to Aurora. “That’s it? Sounds easy enough.” Aurora looked unsure for a moment. “Um… are you on an adventure?” Kael looks back at Aurora. “Yeah, I guess. Why?” Aurora smiled. “I knew it! Can I come? We can use these chocobos. They are very handy.” Kael smiled. “Alright. Is it okay with your grandpa?” Aurora jumped with glee. “Sure is! Already asked him. Let’s go!” Aurora put a saddle on a gold chocobo and hopped on. “Get on!” Kael blushed. “Um… both of us?” Aurora giggled. “What, too shy?” Kael blushed more. “Um… no…” He struggled as he got on the chocobo behind Aurora, and she took his hands and put them around her. Kael blushed again. “Gotta hang on! Go, Lancelot!” The chocobo dashed off, and Aurora guided it.
“Where to, Kael?” Aurora looked back at Kael. “Hmm… I’m not sure.” Aurora jumped. “Ooh! Let’s go to the Northern Continent! I hear the Chocobo Sage lives there! And there’s a neat deserted city!” Kael remembered a story he heard of the City of the Ancients. Perhaps he could find answers there. “Sounds good. Let’s go!” The chocobo dashed off, and the two were off to the Northern Continent.
