Chapter Six: The Hunt for the Black Stone
[/i][/u][/center]Story Three
House on the Coast
Amber sat at the table, pondering while her Grandpa walked over. “Are you okay, Amber? How’s your chest?” Amber looked up at her Grandpa. “I failed you, Gramps. I tried. I really tried, but I was taken by surprise, and I lost your Materia. I’m so sorry.” Her Grandpa walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay. Besides, I placed a tracking device in your glove, which was transferred to the Materia, just in case.” Her Grandpa smiled and winked, and Amber’s face lit up. “Then we can still do it! We’ll get the Materia back!”
Amber and her Grandpa sat in front of a computer while Amber punched in some commands. A map showed up on the screen, and a green blip was on it. “We got ‘em. Now let’s figure out where they are.” Amber zoomed in on the map. “As I thought. They’re at Cosmic Industries’ Building in Kalm. Let’s get going!”
Amber smiled as she walked into her backyard, and looked up. An amazing ship was positioned there. It was the Highwind, in all of its glory. However, Amber added a few modifications. It became much faster, and was now able to go underwater and in space now. Amber smiled as she pressed a button, which lowered the hatch. The two got on board, and they prepared for launch. Amber went to a terminal on the left while her Grandpa took the controls. Amber did a ship check, which came back positive. The Highwind was ready to go.
“Time to get our Materia back.” Amber pressed a button. The fans were dropped, and the exhausts were revealed. Amber’s Grandpa started up the engines, and the exhausts started up, shooting blue flames out. “Time to hit the skies, Highwind!” The Highwind lifted off the ground, and shot into the air. It has become much faster, and was now able to travel anywhere in mere seconds. However, the two liked to have fun, so it took around a minute.
“Take it into Outer Space! We don’t go there often!” Her Grandpa smiles, and Highwind shot off at a vertical ascent, and they ripped through the atmosphere. Amber had her hands against the window as she looked at the spectacular sight of the thousands of stars. “It’s beautiful…” Her Grandpa grinned as they did a vertical dive back toward the planet. Amber screamed and ran in circles, and her Grandpa pulled up, leveling the airship with the ground. “Wasn’t that fun? Okay, let’s get going.” They finally took off for Kalm, and arrived a moment later. The hunt for the stone had begun.
Amber went into a room in the back and opened a hatch. A multitude of weapons were unveiled, but Amber searched for one in particular. She grabbed it and tossed it to her Grandpa, who caught it and grinned. “The Death Sentence. Never misses. Just what I always use. Thanks, Amber.” Amber smiles as she resumes her search. She unlocks a panel at the bottom, and opens a drawer. In it was a multitude of Materia, which she took out. She put on bracers with Materia slots, which she put in a couple Materia in. She combined the Neo Bahamut Materia with the HP Absorb Materia, the Master Summon Materia with W-Summon Materia, and a couple of HP Boosts. She then took out an odd weapon. “Ah, the Conformer. Perfect.”
Amber snuck toward the Kalm Gate, followed by her Gramps. They snuck around the wall, looking for the perfect spot to enter from. They noticed repairs being done at a part of the wall. The two nodded to each other, and moved in. Gramps took out two of them with the Death Sentence, and the rest came after them. Amber raised the Conformer and tossed it at them, which sliced them like a boomerang. The two smiled at each other. “Time to get our Materia back.”
