Chapter 7: The Answer is Revealed

City of the Ancients
“Okay. We’re here.” Aurora and Kael jumped off of Lancelot. “Now you be a good Chocobo and stay here, okay?” Aurora giggles. Kael looked at the City. It was an amazing sight. Aurora walked behind him with her jaw dropped. It was a spectacular sight. Kael, as if he had been there before, walked in and down the middle pathway. He walked for about a mile before he got somewhere. The two came across an odd shaped building with a lake in front. Kael walked to the lake, and looked at it. He could almost feel the presence of someone at the lake. He shook off the feeling and went into the building. There was a weird fish thing in the center of the room, with a spiraling pathway that led to the top of the building. Aurora walked to the fish thing. “Ooh. It looks so cute.” Aurora touched it, and noticed a button. Out of curiosity, she pressed the button. The fish gave way and a path was revealed. Kael drew the Masamune Blade and walked down the path, followed by an excited Aurora.
They reached the bottom of the path, to see a city under a city. Kael saw a path of steps that led to a platform. He jumped them one by one. Aurora jumped, and she missed. She hung on to the step and Kael went back and helped her up. “You need to work on your coordination.” Aurora giggles. “Never could jump.” The two went to the platform, and Kael looked around. He saw blood on the platform, and wondered what it could be from. He examined the sides of the platform, and noticed some writing. Aurora pushed him aside. “Hey! That’s the Ancient Language! I read lots of books and learned the language. I thought it was a myth. I’ll read it to you!”<br>
The Wielder of the Three Artifacts of the Earth shall find the answers at the Temple of the Earth, hidden deep underground. Only those who are brave and pure of heart will find the answer to the questions that have been lost in time.
The two noticed three pictures under the writing. The first one looked similar to the Masamune Blade that Kael was holding. The second was another sword. It was quite large, and from the look of the picture, the middle was of a different color. The third one looked the most peculiar. It was two pictures melded into one. The main one was of a pyramid-like structure. The one within was a circle, which looked similar to the Materia that Kael held. Kael ran the Masamune Blade across the picture of the Masamune Blade, and suddenly the picture reacted. It glowed with a bright blue light, and an image was projected into the sky. It was a map.
The map seemed to pinpoint the location of the “Three Artifacts of the Earth.” It also marked one other spot. Aurora jumped. “I know! The three dots on the outside are the Artifacts, and the one in the middle is the Temple! Hey, wait a minute…” Aurora examined the map. “Rocket Town… Kalm… And the weird Temple! They were all robbed recently! Rocket Town lost a spaceship, Kalm lost a sword and a stone, and the Temple vanished! I think all the artifacts have been recovered! We have to get them!” Kael looked at Aurora with a confused face. Aurora giggles. “We get the artifacts, and then we go to the Temple. Okay?” Kael made a face, saying he understood. “Okay then, let’s get to it. The first one was at Kalm. That’s where I got the Masamune Blade. Rocket Town lost a spaceship, so it must have been hidden on that new planet. The third was at the Temple. I heard the temple was formed because of a stone inside.” Kael pondered for a moment. “Well, all the robberies match the pictures. Two swords and a stone. I say we go to Rocket Town to investigate first. It’s closest.” Aurora nodded, and the two ran back to Lancelot.
