Story Three
Cosmic Industries, Kalm
A battle startled the citizens of Kalm. Cosmic Industries was under siege by a girl and an old man. They blasted through the front gate security and made their way to the first floor. “C’mon, Gramps! We gotta move before they bring more guards!” The two smashed their way through the first floor, and to the elevators, where they went high up to the 60th floor. There, they were greeted by something unusual. These guards were different, wielding large swords, and not wearing standard armor. Amber and Cait stopped in their tracks.
“Umm…” Amber looked nervous. Gramps smirked and shot at the guards with the Death Sentence handgun. The guards deflected the bullets. “Not working, Gramps! Plan B!” Amber threw a couple of grenades and closed the door. After a loud explosion, they opened the doors, and the guards were nowhere to be found. “Hmm…” The two continued on, with more caution as they plowed through the pathetic security, until they finally reached the Chairman.
The two walked up the stairs to see a large hall, with a single desk. A man in a white coat sat there, smirking at the two. “I figured you’d come for this.” He held out the Black Materia. “Hey,” Amber exclaimed, “That’s ours! Give it back!” The man smirked as he got out of his seat, holding a shotgun in one hand and the Black Materia in another. His short blond hair was neat, and his eyes were menacing. “I’m going to need this, girl. I don’t need anything bad happening.” Amber ignored him. “I could care less! Give it back! It’s ours!” Amber threw shurikens at the man, who deflected them with his shotgun. “You’re clueless, aren’t you, girl? Here… let me explain.”
He walked closer as he spoke. “Several years ago, a crazed maniac used this very stone to summon the ultimate destructive force, known as Meteor. It took the best men in the world to stop him, but it was done. He ruined Midgar, the very city I would inherit if it was still there. My great-great-great grandfather was Rufus Shinra, the president of Shinra Corporation, and a great man. Now, I am making sure that nothing happens to my industry in Kalm. This place is five times better than what Rufus could ever do, and I intend to keep it.” Amber and Cait stood there, confused. The man sighs.
“Here, I’ll put it as simple as I can. Three artifacts, creating a triangle on a map. If these artifacts are brought to the point in the middle, then we’re all doomed. That madman will be revived, and he will have the most destructive weapon in his hands. Not only Kalm, but the entire planet will be helpless against him. That’s why I took this from you. That’s why I shot you. Now, be a good girl and leave.”
Amber was shocked. That man held a dangerous weapon, but a dangerous weapon she earned. She wasn’t going to give up. “I don’t care if it’s a weapon or not! It’s MINE!” She throws her Conformer at the man’s legs, tripping him, and he dropped the Black Materia and Shotgun. They both ran for it, and they both reached it at the same time. However, the man had a shotgun, and it was pointing at Amber’s chest. “Drop the Materia, girl.” The man thingyed the shotgun, and the mere sound could send a chill down your spine. However, another gun was thingyed, and it was pointing at the man’s head. “No,” said Gramps. “You put it down, and the shotgun, too.” The man sighed, and did as he was told. Amber picked the two up, and they both went for the window. “Bye, Mr. Chairman!” The two jump out, and their boots turn on like jets as they speed off toward their home.
((Sorry. Stupid filter took out a word. It should read c o c k e d the shotgun.))
