As Nate, Hitori, and Nanaki walked out of the observatory and down to the entrance, Nanaki spoke to them. “Do you understand now why you must go to the Temple and stop whoever wants these artifacts?” The two nod at Nanaki. “Good. Now, I’m not sure the rest of the Canyon will like this, but I have arranged for you two to go along with someone else. Nanaki whispers to the guard, who takes out a walkie talkie, and Nanaki pressed the button. “Highwind, come on down.”
From the skies, the airship known as the Highwind descended down to the ground, and two people came off. The first was a young girl, and the next was an old man. The young girl was wearing a revealing outfit of a red shirt and a black miniskirt, and the old man was wearing black with a blue cape around him. The two walked over from the Highwind toward Nanaki, Nate, and Hitori. “Hi! I’m Amber, and this is Gramps. You can call him Gramps. So, who are you?” Nate and Hitori looked at each other, and then back to the two. “I’m Nate,” “And I’m Hitori.” The two spoke one after the other. Amber and Gramps nodded. “So, I guess we’re partners, huh? Off to save the world! We can do it!” Amber jumps up and down, Gramps sighs, and Nate and Hitori chuckle nervously. “You’ll have to excuse Amber,” said Gramps. “She’s a bit hyper. Now, I’m sure Nanaki told you about what the plan is?” Nate and Hitori nod. “We’re gonna go to this temple and make sure nobody touches the engravings in the floor, right?” Gramps nods. “Good. Then, I guess we should get going.”
The group makes their way to the Highwind, where they climb on. “Alright, before we go, let me give you a tour.” Amber leads the group around, showing them the different rooms. First, she showed them the outside deck, where they could stand as they fly. Next, she showed them the Foyer, where all other rooms could be accessed. It wasn’t exactly a fancy ballroom, but it served its purpose. Next, Amber showed them the Conference Room. It was small, but efficient. A table with several chairs, and a projector at the end of the room. Not fancy, but not useless. Next, she showed them the flight deck. Many computer terminals were off, but two were on. Gramps turned on two more terminals and sat down at a seat. “Alright,” said Amber. “Any questions?” Nate and Hitori shook their heads, and they were sat down. Nate was amazed. He was actually inside an airship. “This is incredible. The workmanship is amazing. Who built it?” Gramps answered. “A great man. His name was Cid Highwind. He helped Cloud beat Sephiroth.”
“Alright, everyone! Hold on to your seats, your belongings, and your lunch! We’re off to save the world! WHOO!” Amber hit the power, and Highwind’s engine roared as they took off to the skies. They flew around the planet, having a good time, and showing off some piloting skills. Amber then started an ascent into space, where they looked down at the planet. “It’s incredible,” said Nate. “I never took the time to look at it. I’ve been too busy driving…” Gramps pinpointed the Temple. “Alright, there it is. We can’t mess up. It’s not an option. We’re going to go in there, and keep guard. No doubt someone will try to use the artifacts.” The group nodded in agreement, and the Highwind shot back down to the planet, where they circled the Temple several times before lowering altitude.
Temple of the Azure Sky
The group made their way to the outside deck, where a rope ladder was let down. Nate and Hitori looked down as Amber and Gramps climbed down and landed safely on the crystal floor. Nate went down first, being very careful and eventually made it all the way down. Hitori was next. She took much longer, being afraid of heights. He carefully put foot after foot on the steps of the rope ladder, until finally making it to the bottom, where she jumped, and Nate caught her. Nanaki, back in the Highwind, turned on auto-pilot, which brought the Highwind back up, circling the Temple. Amber, Gramps, Nate, and Hitori looked at the large crystal gate. It was adorned with beautiful designs and an inscription at the top. It read, “History is like the Cosmos. It will always be there, and never be forgotten.” The four walked up to the gate, and pushed it open. They weren’t the first ones there, and they weren’t going to be the last.
